Racist Tweet: PR Exec Fired After Tweeting 'Going To Africa, Hope I Don't Get AIDS'

Justine tweeted the above statement statement from an airport in London before she left on Friday for South Africa. Her tweet went viral and created a social media firestorm. Unfortunately while her tweet was causing a furore online, she was enjoying her flight and didn't have any idea what was happening.
Her company, the IAC media company chaired by Barry Diller were forced to release a statement while she was still flying:
"The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC. We take this issue very seriously, and we have parted ways with the employee in question. There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally.
We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core."
Her account even got deleted by twitter and the hashtag  #HasJustineLandedYet became a trending topic worldwide. Justine is yet to comment on the issue.
Whoever says Twitter is not serious should better have a rethink.
