“I wouldn’t do business in Uganda due to their dreadful anti-gay laws. Urge other companies to follow suit. Governments (and everyone else) must realise that people should be able to love whoever they want”Branson’s message was in reaction to Ugandan MPs passing a new law making homosexuality punishable by life imprisonment. The law also means people who do not report gay people can be sent to prison.
eLDee posted the picture along with a caption saying,
“Hopefully, one day soon, Africa will realize that the #anti-gay sentiment is no different from racial or religious discrimination. #RaceCreedSexualOrientation #Discrimination”eLDee’s comments clearly irked most of his largely African following on Instagram & what followed was pure anger lashed out at the rapper for his pro gay stance. See some of the reactions below.
First of all I’m all for people loving whoever they want as long as they are not harming anyone, but I’m sorry I do not see the correlation between gay rights & the apartheid struggle or fight for racial equality in the United States. It’s just not the same.
