Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim Talks About her Family and Collabo with General Pype In New Interview

Pretty Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim is doing well for herself in the make believe world. Though married, she has managed her home and career well. She has also succeeded in keeping her family away from the prying eyes of the media.

ENCOMIUM Weekly had an interview with her on her marriage, career and much more.

What is the latest about Juliet Ibrahim?

I actually have my hands in a lot of things right now. I produced my first ever movie this year and I premiered it this year too in Accra and Cape Coast. It was a whole lot of work to put together but the support of my wonderful cast, crew, family and the media made it achievable and worthwhile.

We were planning to bring it to Nigeria this year too but we have postponed it to the 1st quarter of next year. I am also working on my foundation, the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation, which specialises on kidney, cancer and other kidney related ailment. I also just released my second single, It’s Over Now with General Pype.

How is life as an actress?

Life as an actress is interesting as well as cumbersome. You have to be on the move, jetting from one location to the other can be really stressful. You hardly get time to rest. On the other hand, it’s fun too. You meet a lot of people with different outlooks to life and you get to play the lives of a variety of people through the roles you are cast in, it’s a roller coaster.

What are the challenges of being an actress and mother?

Apart from the fact that we always under scrutiny by our fans and the public as a whole who see us role models, it’s pretty much fun. We are just ordinary everyday people who make a living by impacting people’s lives.

How are you managing it?

I balance it out well, one does not disturb the other, I am still a young woman. I can’t complain and I have just started out. I’m not where I am aiming at yet, so no resting yet.

How will you describe life as a mother, an actress and a musician. How are you juggling them?

Like I said earlier, it’s all good. I have perfected the art of juggling them well without dropping any.

juliet3Tell us about the recent collabo you did with General Pype?

It’s my second single and it’s entitled, It’s over now. It’s more or less Afro pop and it’s a story of a lady who has had enough of being taken for granted by her man. General Pype just like the Ghanaian dancehall act Jupita whom I featured in my first single, ‘Celebrate’ are very talented dancehall acts. That’s why I singled them out.

You have succeeded in keeping away your family from the media. How have you been achieving this?

Not really, my younger sisters Nadia and Sonia are both models and aspiring actresses. Sonia has been nominated already for her first big role she played in my movie ‘The Number One Fan’. So they are in the limelight too.

As a very pretty woman, how do you cope with advances from male admirers?

I am a married woman, so I don’t encourage advances from male fans. They can admire from afar.

How did your journey into acting begin?

Started more or less like an accident, it wasn’t pre-planned.  I stumbled into acting in 2005 along side star actor, Majid Michel.

How does it feels to be one of the most sought after actresses in Ghana right now?

It’s a humbling feeling.

What will you attribute your success to?

God and my wonderful fans.
