The Pope is already crushing it on Twitter, beating out Obama as the most influential world leader according to a July Twiplomacy study. His @Pontifex twitter handle boasts 3,048,148 followers, and that's just on the English-language account.
Since news of Pope Francis' Instagram profile hit the headlines his number of followers has shot up, and currently stands at 6,149. The Pope is said to want to offer 'inspiration rather than revelation' via his Instagram page.
