From Snoop Dog to Snoop Lion And Now Meet SNOOP ZILLE

JUST when we were getting used to calling him Snoop Lion, he's gone and changed his name again.

The 41-year-old rapper, who was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Junior, originally chose the stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg, but has now revealed he's sick of that too and wants to be called Snoopzilla from now on.

It's believed the name is a tribute to legendary funk bassist Bootsy Collins who's nickname is Bootzilla.

Just a year after becoming Snoop Lion, the Beautiful singer announced his new moniker yesterday to coincide with the release of his new album 7 Days of Funk which he recorded with groove singer Dam-Funk.

'Zilla says his new name refelects the funk influence in his music, while Lion was an ode to his rastafarian roots.

"We're the babies of the Mothership," said Snoopzilla in a statement.

"I've had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dam-Funk is cold. He's keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him."
